Yes I would say most of them are chrome plated, not made of chrome. Chrome is a "flash" plate usually over nickel plate because nickel is prone to tarnish, chrome is not. If you see something that says it's "triple chrome plated" that is copper, nickel and chrome, very durable and something you should look for when making a purchase. It will last much longer than a simple nickel and chrome finish.
